The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, has announced a partnership with Air Arabia and the National Hotels and Guest House Association of Maldives (NHGAM) for the upcoming I AM Maldives Roadshow. Taking place from December 17-20, 2024, the roadshow will visit Azerbaijan and Georgia—two rapidly emerging markets for international travel.
Under this partnership, Air Arabia will serve as the official travel partner, offering exclusive discounted airfares to Maldivian tourism representatives attending the roadshow. This initiative is designed to reduce travel costs and make participation more accessible for hotels, guest houses, and tourism industry stakeholders from the Maldives.
Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives, emphasized the importance of the roadshow in expanding the Maldives’ presence in these markets. “We are excited to showcase the Maldives’ luxury and natural beauty to Azerbaijan and Georgia,” Shiuree said.
The collaboration also involves NHGAM, which plays a key role in supporting local industry participation. Ahmed Waheed, Vice President of NHGAM, highlighted that the special airfare rates will ensure broader involvement from the Maldives' tourism sector, contributing to the success of the event.
The roadshow will provide a platform for Maldivian tourism businesses to connect with local travel agencies, tour operators, and other stakeholders in Azerbaijan and Georgia, aiming to boost tourism from these emerging regions. This initiative is seen as a vital step in strengthening the Maldives’ global tourism footprint and exploring new avenues for growth in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
With its stunning beaches, luxurious resorts, and world-class hospitality, the Maldives is poised to attract more travelers from these markets, creating lasting business ties and increasing tourism bookings.
