The Maldives has emerged as a global leader in tourism, securing 9 prestigious awards at the World Travel Awards 2024. Held in Madeira, Portugal, the Grand Final Gala Ceremony celebrated the most exceptional achievements in travel and tourism worldwide, with the Maldives taking center stage.

Among the top honors, the Maldives was named World’s Leading Destination 2024, further cementing its position as a must-visit luxury haven. The nation also received the coveted World’s Leading Green Destination award, underscoring its commitment to sustainable tourism practices.

Several Maldivian properties were also recognized for their excellence. Trans Maldivian Airways was awarded World’s Leading Seaplane Operator 2024, enhancing the Maldives’ reputation for unique travel experiences.
